Shelves like these would seemingly rotate around the store depending on the day... If they had received a shipment that day the shelves would have something on them but if it had been a few days then they would be empty. You wouldn't even enter the TP and paper towel aisle - it was not even worth it!
This work is a sculptural installation created in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. A trip to the grocery store will never be the same. Walking down aisle after aisle of empty shelves is something we have never before experienced. Panic has caused people to buy up supplies in bulk and hoard them, leaving other community members without. If only you could enter a store without wondering, will they have what I need? The food, supplies, toilet paper my family is out of? If only the shelves could stay stocked. What would you but to get you through this crisis? What our country needs, however, is something you can’t find on the store shelves.
